That's the DSM setup complete, now proceed to add the AirConnect container. Within ' docker' create folder ' airconnect'.Add a new folder to hold all Docker containers information: mine is called ' docker'.Using File Station navigate to the ' system' shared folder.I have a DSM shared folder called ' system' that I used for non-user related activities and I'm going to used that here (you can select your own shared folder and follow the instructions). For now we will just create the folders in DSM, later we will assign them to the containers. 2 days ago &0183 &32 The streamer’s latest new show is Silo, a sci-fi series focused on a group of people who live in an underground silo in the aftermath of a nuclear disaster. This will make updating a container much easier when that time comes. We want to store all configuration data and logs on NAS storage, not within the container. The same Docker container is used from the Simple method but this time we will add support for editing the configuration. Open Audio Staiton and click the output device icon (bottom right corner) to see the new AirPlay devices. The new AirConnect container should now be running and has preset latency and buffering values that work with Sonos and HEOS players. Click Apply to create the new container.Click Next to progress to the summary view.Click Apply to save the Advanced Settings.Network tab, enable 'Use the same network as Docker Host'.But am looking for a peripheral that will give both via a single HDMI port, hence interest in the Chromecast with Google TV dongle. Click Advanced Settings and Enable auto-restart, then. Yeah, am aware Sony TVs have both Google Cast and Airplay built in (I think some TCL TVs do as well).Container Name: give it a useful name, e.g.Next configure the new container instance (if not mentioned then leave a setting as-is): Within Docker's Registry tab, search for 'airconnect' and from the results download the official container which is called '1activegeek/airconnect'.įrom Docker's Image tab, select the '1activegeek/airconnect' image and click Launch. Step 3: Select 'Cast to' in the Airdroid Cast App of Your Mac. Any UPnP and Chromecast players will have an AirPlay instance created and named the same as the player but with a '+' suffix, e.g.: 'HEOS Amp' the DLNA/UPnP player will get a 'HEOS Amp+' AirPlay v1 service. The container can be run using its default settings without any access to a shared NAS folder. The advanced deployment will let you set your choice of names for the AirPlay devices, artwork, and other settings. You can try the Synology package if your NAS doesn't run Docker.įollow the instructions for a Simple deployment or the Advanced. I selected the Docker container ( Docker Hub) because it isolates the software from the rest of DSM. So first you need to install Docker from Package Center, if it's not already running. We're going to setup AirConnect using DSM's Docker package that is available on DS 'plus' models. There is extensive help on its GitHub webpage and links to a Synology package and a maintained Docker container. So what we're going to do is use the Synology NAS to run a network service aimed to help your other devices, rather than the limited mileage it adds for Audio Station.ĪirConnect ( philippe44/AirConnect) is open-source and available as pre-compiled binaries for many platforms. Any help is highly appreciated, thanks. You may be using iTumes or an iOS device and want to play music or podcasts to you non-AirPlay speaker. What I am looking for is how should one be going about to solve this kind of problem, or building a solution and get it working. I am open to working on native solutions and maybe even building a plugin, but since this project has time constraints, I am really looking for ways I can implement this on an MVP level. Also being new to network discovery, I am finding it difficult to get a proper direction. Throughout my research, I have been bombarded with words like mDNS and Cast SDK's receiver. I have got FireTV nicely working even the media controls and tested, the problem starts with how do I join them all to be fired up in a single call, and yet get generic data back. I have come across this discussion on GitHub ->.Now I have spent days behind the research before posting it here. So I am working on a Flutter project which requires me to fire up discovery for devices such as FireTV, Chromecast, Roku, Airplay, Samsung on the tap of a single cast button, and then play media on the selected one. Happy to be a part of a healthy community.
